Starting resistors

The oil resistor provides motor gradual starting by means of disengaging resistance steps from the rotor circuit as itaccelerates. They are ideal in big drive mechanisms where low starting frequency is required.
The resistive units are assembled from cast iron resistive elements and are located in a tank with transformer oil which is insulant and medium accumulating heat emitted by the resistors when starting.
A model range of oil starting resistors allows starting motors with the power of up to 6,400 kW.
The products protection rating is IP54.

Field of application:

• belt transporters and conveyors;
• mill fan;
• ball mill;
• cementmills;
• pumping station.

The resistors are tailor-made upon the customer's request.

The liquidstarter provides motor smooth gradual starting.
This system is mainly used where the process does not require speed control and very high starting torque is required. Robust design guarantees high operational reliability and long lifetime.
The electrolyte (Na2CO3 solution in water) is used as a resistor and medium accumulating heat.
The system of removable electrodes controlled by a programmable controller allows decreasing the starter resistancegradually as the motor accelerates.
The liquid starters allow starting motors with the power of up to 9,800 kW and their protection rating is IP55.
