In the rolling stockthe braking resistor for the electric train ES2G serves as electrical load of traction motors in the generator modeduring the train rheostatic braking and is designed for converting the braking energy of the electric train into heat if the energy cannot be transferred back to the grid. The resistor was developed within the framework of the programme of import substitution of components for the OJSC "RZD" and is the only domestic braking resistor for high-speed electric trains.
It is used in electric trains of the ES2G, ES2GP and ESP1 series.
